Southern Accent Custom Homes
Southern Accent Custom Homes is a close knit family business, where everyone works together to
provide well built homes that are strong enough to stand the test of time.
Owner Mike Wilkes and his family have been in construction for 30 years and he has worked for many
years with his wife, Debbie, who manages the office and public relations. Their daughter, Carissa
Wilkes and their son, Jason Wilkes, work with them and share their goal of providing good building
experiences and beautiful customized homes that more than please their owners.
In 2004 Southern Accent Custom Homes won 1st place in the Horry-Georgetown Parade of Homes, in
their price range, in all categories. This was Southern Accent's very first entry into the Parade
of Homes and they were thrilled by the reception their entry received.
Mike, also the company draftsman, draws all of the plans, unless a client already has a plan that
they prefer. His experience and creativity allows him to envision a home and avoid last minute
changes and structural design flaws. When he is designing a home, Debbie is an integral part in the
decision making.
Mike and Debbie pride themselves on quality and creativity with each new home they build. Debbie
says, "We believe that a home can never be too strong, and we build each home as if it was our own.
We enjoy building homes as much as the new homeowners enjoy receiving the keys to their homes".
